UFT Class Overview

The Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT) certification covers upholstery fiber categories, fiber identification and testing, manufacturing of the fiber and fabric, the chemistry of cleaning, methods, protections, spotting, and potential problems.

Upon achieving the certification, you demonstrate you have specific knowledge about fabric and fiber content and furniture construction and can identify limitations and potential cleaning-related problems on a given piece of upholstery.

Ideal for: Technicians, business owners and managers, contractors, and property managers.

Qualifies for 14 IICRC CECs.

Class Schedule - Zoom / Live Stream

The following schedule applies to all days of training.

  • 7:30 AM - check-in
  • Class begins 30 min after check-in
  • 4:00 PM - class ends

This is a Live Stream / Online training. Each student is required to have their own computer with a web cam and audio connection. Students are expected to be on camera and fully engaged in class each day.

Zoom/Class Login information will be sent via email approximately 48 hours before class begins.

After enrolling you will receive detailed instructions to prepare for the class including access to the class modules that need to be printed prior to class.

Meet Your Instructor

Jeff Cutshall

Jeff started his carpet and upholstery cleaning journey over 40 years ago and has enjoyed working as an employee, a manager, and as a business owner.

He is currently teaching five different classes and has been instructing, consulting, and traveling internationally since 2002. Jeff teaches the Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) and Upholstery Fabric Technician (UFT) classes in both English and Spanish. In addition, Jeff still operates his carpet cleaning business in Kansas City. 

"I really love teaching! Therefore, I have devoted myself to making my virtual classes just as much fun and interactive as the in-person classes. Ongoing support is available after the class to help reinforce your learning and answer any questions you might have. My goal is to help you gain real world experience while also preparing you to confidently pass the exam!"

IICRC Certification

To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC. Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process
