OCT Class Overview
The Odor Control Technician (OCT) certification covers olfaction and odor, odor sources, detection process, theory of odor control, equipment, chemical options, and applications.
Upon achieving the certification, you demonstrate how to address odors caused by biological sources such as decomposition, urine contamination, mold, combustion sources such as fire and smoke damage, and chemical sources such as fuel oil spills or volatile organic chemicals.
Ideal for: Technicians, business owners and managers, contractors, and property managers.

Class Location & Schedule - Reading, PA
The following schedule applies to all days of training.
- 8:00 AM - class begins
- 5:00 PM - class ends
Whether attending in-person or via live stream, we encourage students to arrive a few minutes early on day 1 and be on time for all days of training.

Meet Your Instructor
John Perella
John Perella is a Graduate of Penn State University and holds the elite status of an IICRC Triple master in Fire, Water and Textile Restoration and is an IICRC instructor.
John has restored hundreds of houses and commercial buildings and specializes in water intrusions, especially their diagnosis and remediation.
Currently, John is the Curriculum Development Manager at the Restoration Technical Institute where he overseas development of courses for RTI's newest digital training solution for companies serving the built environment.

IICRC Certification
To earn certification, students must pass the certification exam, which is available for an additional fee paid directly to the IICRC. Students must visit www.iicrc.org to register online and submit the exam fee prior to or on the first day of class. Please contact the IICRC with any questions regarding this process
