Mark Violand began his career in the carpet cleaning industry in 1977, working alongside his brother in a business that offered a full range of services—from carpet cleaning and color repair to installation, water damage restoration, and maintenance. Early on, Mark discovered his passion for training, taking responsibility for teaching new technicians the skills and standards that define quality workmanship.

Today, Mark is an IICRC Instructor holding 12 certifications, and he teaches the Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT), Commercial Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCMT), and Carpet Repair and Reinstallation Technician (RRT) courses. In addition to his teaching, he is Northeast Ohio’s trusted expert in carpet and flooring inspection, a role he has held since 1994.

Mark also serves as Chairman of the IICRC S800 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Inspection of Textile Floorcoverings and leads the Carpet Repair and Reinstallation Technician Committee. Known for bringing real-world expertise into the classroom, Mark continues to perform carpet repairs regularly—keeping his skills sharp and his instruction grounded in practical experience.
