Tony Macaluso, CR, CMRS is a veteran of more than four decades in the cleaning and restoration industry. As co-owner of Sunshine Fabric Cleaning & Restoration in Austin, Texas, Tony has provided professional cleaning and restoration services since 1973. In addition to running his company, he serves as Administrator of TM Restoration Schools, Inc., where he has taught courses across the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Scandinavia, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.
Tony’s extensive expertise has led him to consult and teach for several leading organizations, including Paul Davis Restoration, Fibreclean of Canada, the National Flood School (England), Polygon and Munters Group (Scandinavia), and the Australian Carpet Cleaning Institute.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC), chairs the Odor Control Committee on the Technical Advisory Board, and is a member of the ANSI S-500 Water Damage Restoration Standards Committee. Tony was also a founding father and past president of the Southwest Carpet Cleaners Association, now known as the Professional Cleaning & Restoration Alliance (PCRA).
A graduate of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, Tony holds multiple advanced designations, including Master Textile Cleaner, Master Fire and Water Damage Restorer, and Senior Carpet Inspector (#797) with the IICRC. He is also recognized as a Master Deflooding and Restoration Specialist with the Coalition Drying and Restoration Network (C.D.R.N.), a Certified Mold Remediation Specialist with the American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQ), and a Certified Restorer (#70) with the Restoration Industry Association (RIA).
